5 Ways to Help Shelter Pets This Christmas

Are you looking for a great way to help animals this holiday season? Look no further than the CCSPCA for great ideas on how to do just that. Weâve put together a list of the top 5 ways to help support our animals right now, and the best part is that you can do it while you shop and celebrate with your family.
#1 - Give to the Annual Holiday Pet Supply Drive to benefit the CCSPCA

The CCSPCA holds its Annual Pet Supply Drive each year between the Thanksgiving and New Yearâs holidays. The gift giving season means lots of special deals on pet toys and treats, so take advantage of a great time to shop in order to give back to animals in need. We appreciate your donations of pet supplies including :
- Cat and dog toys and treats
- Canned dog and cat food
- Dry dog and cat food
- Cat litter
- Large towels
- As well as many other items noted on our Wish List
The CCSPCA Adoption Center and Stray Building are accepting donations every day from 10am to 5pm (6pm on Wednesdays). Pets spending their holidays in the shelter deserve gifts too. Thanks for helping to spread a little holiday cheer!
#2 - Support the âHome for the Holidaysâ adoption event

Our 3rd annual Home for the Holidays adoption event has begun and will run the entire month of December. Last year we found loving homes for an astounding 727 animals and this year weâre aiming to rehome 800. Puppies, dogs, cats, and kittens are being adopted for the special price of only $49. For exact times, dates, and locations of our adoption events, take a look at our calendar. We live in the age of social media and that means you can help save lives without ever leaving home. Share our adoption events on your social media accounts and youâll be helping to save lives. For more info and a flier to share, take a look at our recent post, 2015 Home For The Holidays Adoption Specials.
#3 - Give the gift of Maggieâs Jammies

Every dog can use a set of Maggieâs Jammies, so grab some for your pet and a few gifts for your friendsâ pets. Maggie the boxer was one of the CCSPCAâs most emaciated rescues and her ownerâs neglect left her in need of something warm to wear. Maggieâs Jammies were born and these printed fleece dog pajamas now support the CCSPCA Wellness Fund which helps abused and neglected animals brought to the shelter. Find Maggieâs Jammiesâand do some holiday shoppingâat our Gift Store.
#4 - Purchase a 2016 CCSPCA Calendar

Ask yourself, âHow can I buy a great gift while helping animals and do it for only $10?â Your answer, the 2016 CCSPCA Calendar. These calendars feature professional photos of our amazing animals and all proceeds go back to supporting our work. They are the perfect gift for the animal lover (or animal lovers) in your life and you can feel great that youâre giving back to animals in need. Now thatâs a holiday miracle!
#5 - Donate to our Wellness Fund

Our Wellness Fund was developed to help animals that are injured, sick, and in need of medical assistance. Donations toward this medical fund will help animals receive the extra, and often costly, medical procedures they need to recover and be adopted. The Wellness Fund helps to offset the cost of these procedures, rather than applying the additional fees to the cost of the animalâs adoption.By donating to this very important fund, you are providing an injured animal with the care it needs to find a forever home. You have plenty of options when it comes to helping animals this holiday season, but it will all be over soon. To make sure you end up on the nice list, pick your favorites and get started.
