CCSPCA to Celebrate World Spay Day With FREE Spays/Neuters!

The CCSPCA will participate in the 2018 World Spay Day, an international campaign that promotes the life-saving benefits of spaying/neutering pets. We are excited to announce that on February 27 we will be performing 40 free spay/neuter surgeries on cats and dogs – the most we have ever offered!To take advantage of this special, clients must call on Friday, February 23, 2018, starting at 8:00 a.m. We will be accepting a mix of breeds, species, and genders. Please call 559-233-7722 ext. 219 to sign up. We will accept calls until all 40 spots are filled. Due to the limited availability of this offer, we can only accept one pet per client.Surgeries will take place on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, only. Drop off is from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., no exceptions. Pets must be at least 4 months old and current on vaccines, over 6 months old without vaccines, and no older than 5 years of age.Spaying and neutering pets is a proven way to reduce pet overpopulation and increases their chances to live longer and healthier. There are also medical and behavioral advantages to spaying/neutering pets. According to the American Veterinarian Medical Association (AVMA), spaying or neutering pets can dramatically reduce or eliminate certain types of cancers that develop in both males and females. Additionally, altered dogs and cats are less likely to bite or become aggressive, mark their territory, wander and become lost, or get hit by cars while searching for mates.Created as Spay Day USA by the Doris Day Animal League (DDAL) in 1995, World Spay Day is now a program of The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), Humane Society International (HSI) and Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association (HSVMA). This year, February 27 is designated as World Spay Day with spay/neuter events taking place throughout the month.
