Charges Submitted for Prosecution to DA for 145 neglected animals in Orange Cove

On Monday, November 21, 2016 our Humane Investigation Officers submitted a request for charges for prosecution to the Animal Cruelty Unit at the District Attorney’s office against Noah’s Friends Animal Sanctuary, a “no-kill” rescue, for neglecting 145 animals. In August 2016, CCSPCA Humane Investigation Officers confiscated over 142 dogs and 3 cats from a Fresno County no-kill rescue organization, Noah’s Friends Animal Sanctuary, after being alerted to the suspected neglect situation. The CCSPCA served a search warrant and found dogs at Noah’s Friends Animal Sanctuary in Orange Cove suffering from a variety of medical conditions and lack of basic care. Many of the dogs are extremely emaciated and are suffering from parasites, as well as the possibility of diseases due to neglect. The living conditions were deplorable, with many of the dogs living in small crates with no food or water. The animals were removed and transferred to the CCSPCA where they were thoroughly examined and will received any necessary immediate medical care by the compassionate veterinarians and medical staff. The dogs have been in the care of the CCSPCA for several months and recovering well. We have found foster homes and forever homes for some of the dogs rescued from Orange Cove. We still have dogs looking for foster care or adoption. Please contact our Adoption center at foster@ccspca.com or adoptions@ccspca.com for more information about the Orange Cove animals in our care.
