Man Charged with Felony on Animal Cruelty Charges
Felony animal cruelty charges were brought against Mark Grahmann by the District Attorney’s office earlier last week, case number Felony 17901014. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. In May 2016, the CCSPCA received a report from a man claiming that his boyfriend, Grahmann, was torturing his dog. One of our Humane Officers contacted the complainant and was informed that he had found video evidence of Grahmann committing acts of animal cruelty. Grahmann had bound, suspended in mid-air, tortured, and tormented the victim’s dog on numerous occasions. Officer Ramirez collected the videos and the two dogs, one belonging to the reporting party and the other belonging to the suspect, and delivered them to the CCSPCA to be examined by the veterinary staff.A search warrant was issued and our team, along with four Humane Officers from spcaLA served the warrant. Grahmann and another male who was present were detained while the warrant was served and the home was searched. Numerous items were collected as evidence.A request for charges was submitted to the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office in December 2016. Both dogs seemed to be in good health and the reporting party’s dog was released back to him. Grahmann’s dog was seized and later put up for adoption. She has since found a loving home.We are grateful for the on-going support of the District Attorney’s office with animal cruelty cases. We appreciate the support, professionalism, and helping hand spcaLA provided in this case. We look forward to working with spcaLA in the future. To help support the CCSPCA and its efforts to prosecute offenders and help abused, neglected, homeless animals, please consider making a donation, becoming a foster parent, or volunteering your time and talent.
