Animal Camps
CCSPCA’s Veterinarian Animal Science Exploration Camp is a 3 day camp designed for teens, ages 14 to 17, who would like to learn about the veterinary field and gain valuable animal handling experience. Camp will be conducted by animal science professionals and adult volunteers here at the CCSPCA. Daily Hands-on activities and animal interactions will introduce Veterinary Science in fun interactive activities and inspire our future generation of veterinarians!

Frequently Asked Questions
Children are required to wear/bring long pants and closed-toe shoes in order to work with the shelter animals. Please keep in mind, capris are not long pants. Your child should also wear a CCSPCA Animal Camp t-shirt. One t-shirt is included in the cost of camp and will be issued on the first day of camp. You may also purchase additional t-shirts at registration checkout, or on-site at camp, for $20.00 per shirt. We suggest you buy extra shirts. Part of the proceeds from each shirt purchase is dedicated to helping the animals in our care. Adult shirt sizes are available, but may have to be ordered
Yes. Your child will be working hands-on with shelter animals. All of the dogs that are approved for camp have undergone a behavioral assessment with our Behavior and Training team.
Campers do not need to bring anything other than their enthusiasm. Please note that a snack and beverage will be provided mid-morning. If your child has special dietary needs you may want to send a snack along with them each day.
For the safety of the campers and the animals, please inform the Humane Education Department of any disabilities, illnesses, or medications that could affect your child at camp. We may be able to reasonably accommodate activities if your child requires assistance due to a disability. Regarding medication, parents need to send instructions with their child along with their medications and discuss the dispensing process our department in advance. We have a refrigerator and locked container to keep medications safe. We do not have a nurse onsite.
If your child has any severe allergies, including nut allergies, please contact the Humane Education Department to discuss available options.
Refunds will be provided if notice is given three weeks before the start date of the session in which your child is enrolled. There will be a 10% processing fee for any cancellation.
After the payment and online camper form has been filled out, a confirmation packet will be emailed to you around 2 weeks before the camp session.
